Protecting your home is more than just having a house alarm. You also need to think about what locks are used to protect the doors to your property too.

Check your Cylinder
The British Standard Kitemark and the number of stars shown on the cylinder indicate the level of security protection. Its worth taking a look at your current cylinder and seeing what security this offers.
The diagram (left) demonstrates how many stars offer what level of security and how you can check. If you don't currently have a 3 Star cylinder its worth upgrading to ensure adequate protection. See how below . . .
Measure your Cylinder
Firstly its important you get the right size to replace your existing door cylinder. Cylinders are measured as per the diagram right, to ensure a direct replacement, measure your current door cylinder to see what size you need.
A = in mm from the centre of the cam to point A.
B = in mm from the centre of the cam to point B.
NB: your cylinder may be longer on one side than the other.
